BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
MI Techologies is 100% black-owned
and -managed. 80% of our goods and services are procured from black-owned
companies. While employment equity is not a requirement for a company
of our size, all 18 staff members are from previously-disadvantaged
sectors of society. MIT is active in corporate social responsibility
activities, having sponsored an all-woman's cricket team since 2006;
supported charity events; and donated equipment to Big Brother/Big
Sister SA. The company bankrolls relevant staff training.
As committed BEE entrepreneurs,
we believe our most important investment is in our human capital
and partners. In line with this we have developed a strategy of
lean support infrastructure, and a body of highly motivated, economically
independent support contractors, providing them with the means of
entering the mainstream economy.
